The Tree Zipline is a utility structure building that was added in update v0.63 to The Forest.

Gameplay

Both endpoints can be hooked to trees and optionally second end point can be hooked with terrain. Logs can be sent down the zipline, additionally corpses and torso’s can be "carried" while using the zipline.

  • Ziplines are the fastest way to travel in the game.
  • Pressing E or Space will let go of the zipline.
  • Letting go of the zipline and falling into water is safe, falling onto land is not so safe.
  • Logs can be sent down the zipline by aiming at the rope of the zipline and pressing C.
  • Sending a pair of logs too quickly will result in both logs to detach and fall from the zipline
  • Regardless of which you placed first, the zipline point at the highest altitude will be the start of the ride. You cannot ride 'up' ziplines.
  • Cannibals and Mutants will attack zip lines if the player is close enough to them.
  • Ziplines have a max length of 30 ropes. Mods can make the ziplines an unlimited length.
  • Tree Ziplines attached to trees will be destroyed if the tree is cut down or hit by an Armsy
  • Carried items such as held live rabbits and animal heads will drop if you use the Zipline

Rope amount is dependent on its length with a max of 30 rope. This can be increased by using mods such as the Ultimate Cheat Menu.
