The SOS Signal is a unique building that was added in update v1.0 to The Forest.
Gameplay[]
A plane will spawn in the sky and fly over the player once the SOS signal has been established; however, a plane can spawn whether or not an SOS signal has been built. It cannot be notified in any way. It's pointless to fire a flare gun into the air. This feature appears to be a gimmick or intended to cause controversy. You can fly after the plane if you use the Ultimate Cheat Menu. The closer you get, however, the faster it gets. This appears to have been done on purpose to discourage players from getting a close look at the plane. Apart from that, it can be used as a decoration to add to the immersion.
The Hole Cutter is not able to remove the SOS signal.
