Liberty Cap Mushrooms are edible fungi found throughout the Peninsula.

Gameplay

They can be eaten directly to restore a small amount of hunger and energy, or collected with the pouch. Like berries, collected mushrooms do not spoil and can be eaten later, used for crafting, or planted in a garden. The player can only grow mushrooms in caves; however, they do not spawn there naturally and must be brought in from outside. As of v0.66, they cannot be grown in wall planters.

Trivia

• In reality, the Liberty Cap (Psilocybe semilanceata), one of the safely edible mushrooms, is famous for its use as a psychedelic hallucinogen. It is one of the so-called "magic mushrooms".
• The Liberty Cap is usually found in dead grass that has a lot of nutriens for the mushroom, it only grows in Autumn in most places, such as Sweden.
• The amount of psilocybin (the psycho-active substance) lies between 0.80-1% depending on growing conditions.
• In reality, it would take around 20 mushrooms for a heafty dose.

v0.69	It is now possible to cook a stew with the cooking pot ! After adding the pot filled with water on a fire, add a choice of 20 ingredients (8 meats, 6 mushrooms, 4 herbs and 1 berry and oysters), it will start a 30s cooking period after which stew will be ready to eat, providing hydration, fullness and other benefits based on recipe. Can remain on the fire up to 10 minutes. Note, you can also add ingredients to pot without water, however this will not provide hydration and will burn food extremely fast.
