Walking is the default movement of the player.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

It is rather slow though it allows for stamina to recover as it doesn't use any stamina at all. If the player is sprinting and they run out of stamina, they will default back to walking.

When walking whilst using a gamepad, the player can adjust the speed that they walk if they are using a gamepad stick instead of a button.

When walking on snow and on sand, your walk speed is reduced by 15% when on these elements. (Snow shoes can bypass the walk speed reduction) You cannot walk under or on water.

Cannibals approximately half the time when they are patrolling. Mutants always walk unless they have detected a player.

The pedometer accounts for every step taken when walking or sprinting.

Effects[edit | edit source]

  • Walking consumes 0.25 calories Per Second.
  • Doesn't use stamina
  • Reduces the sound that the player makes, which can help prevent detection by enemies
  • Slowed by 15% on sand and snow
