Most animals work in single player or multiplayer mode. However, geese and their heads are very buggy and may require extra steps. This achievement does not unlock in Creative mode.

Console Commands method
The Trophy Hunter achievement can be quite frustrating to obtain due to Geese being frustrating to kill while retaining the head. You can use console commands to obtain the heads. Type in developermodeon in the main menu, then start your game. Once in game, press F1 then type any of the following commands, depending on your needs.

Tips
Geese
- Geese "sink" when killed. It may be necessary to build a platform under the surface of the water to kill them and collect their head efficiently
- Geese heads disappear almost immediately after death. The player must spam the
Ekey while killing the goose to collect the head - Try scaring the geese to the edge of the lake (by swimming near them to direct them) then kill them while you are on the edge of the land - then quickly spamming the
Ekey is best - Mounting the head in multiplayer sometimes does not work for geese, and may need to be done in single player mode.
- Good way to get its head is to build a raft in the lake and move it in the direction where the geese will fly when they will fly away. Build also a camp so that you can save and sleep (if needed). Have your bow ready and try to shoot one of the goose when they fly away and they "approach" your raft. If done correctly, dead goose will fall onto your raft and just go for the head.
Shark Head
Shark Heads can only be obtained from dead sharks on the beaches. Simply attack the neck of a dead shark with a bladed weapon. The head will come off within about 2 to 4 hits. Keep in mind that dead sharks despawn once you remove the head, ensure you don’t waste all the heads.
Mutant babies
You can also kill a mutant baby and collect its head. If you put its head as a trophy, it will count towards the achievement (i.e. it will be sufficient to display only 12 animal heads).
