Standing Fires are fire buildings that were adding in update v0.01 to The Forest.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The Standing Fire is one of the 4 fires to choose from in The Forest. Its main function is to provide warmth, and illuminate surrounding areas at night. To prevent fire from being extinguished, you can put additional leaves into it by standing close to fire and pressing 'E' button. Extinguished Standing Fire can be re-lit 2 times before it destroys itself and player needs to build another one.

After its destruction, Standing Fire will yield back rocks that have been used for its building.

Fire, especially if lit in an open area and during the night, will attract Cannibals and Mutants.

This is the only player-built structure that can be found elsewhere in the world generated by AIs - they can be found (always lit) in some portions of the caves.

Purpose[edit | edit source]

Standing Fires can be used to light a Fire Arrow, simply draw the open bow with a fire arrow loaded. Walk up to the standing fire and the arrow should light.

You can't cook food on a Standing Fire.

You can get rid of cold status by standing next to fire for a moment.
