Sprinting, also known as running, is a gameplay aspect that allows the player to move faster than the typical walking speed. Sprinting is achieved by holding down the Left Shift key while moving using W, A, S, and D. The player is unable to sprint if their energy is below a certain level, and it will decrease energy at a faster rate than walking. Sprinting makes more noise than walking, which will reduce stealth. Athleticism can significantly reduce the amount of stamina that sprinting uses. At 99 athleticism, the player can sprint for twice as long. There is an option to toggle sprinting with the shift key which allows the player to sprint until they have run out of stamina without holding the shift key. It will need to be reset after the player runs out of stamina or stops.
