Snow shoes are wearable equipment that increase movement speed in snow, they were added in update v0.31 of The Forest.
Gameplay[]
Snow Shoes prevent the player from sinking and slowing down in snow only while walking, where they increase movement speed by 30%. They do not increase sprint speed in snow. They are only useful in the snowy mountainous region at the north end of the peninsula, particularly when trying to quickly flee a pack of oncoming cannibals. You cannot currently wear them while wearing rabbit fur boots, losing automatically the 20% of cold armor provided by the fur boots. The player may notice that once the snow shoes are equipped, the player can look down to see them in game.
