Marigold is a harvestable plant, herb, material item that was added in update v0.01 of The Forest.
Gameplay[]
Marigold can be easily recognized by its bright and round orange flowers. Marigold can be found all around the peninsula, with the exception of snow areas. (Side tip: a very big spawn of marigold is at the tree of life/ sacred tree near the yacht.) It can be used to craft herbal medicine and herbal medicine+. Marigold can be eaten alone to replenish a small amount of hunger.
The player can only carry 10 marigold in his inventory at a time.

Trivia[]
- Marigold appears to be based off the real life flower, from the Tagetes species.
- It use to be used in crafting orange paint, however orange paint, as well as blue paint was removed in v1.0.
Known Bugs[]
- In multiplayer, there is a chance that the same herb plant will appear differently for different players. For example, what appears as chicory or coneflower for one player may appear to be marigold for another.

Gathered herbs now take 1 in game day to respawn It is now possible to cook a stew with the cooking pot ! After adding the pot filled with water on a fire, add a choice of 20 ingredients (8 meats, 6 mushrooms, 4 herbs and 1 berry and oysters), it will start a 30s cooking period after which stew will be ready to eat, providing hydration, fullness and other benefits based on recipe. Can remain on the fire up to 10 minutes. Note, you can also add ingredients to pot without water, however this will not provide hydration and will burn food extremely fast. |
