Jump Attack/ko

Jump attacks, also known as flying attacks are a unique attack that the player can perform, they were added in update v0.16 of The Forest. This attack will deal damage based on distance fallen, and will consume 75% of your total stamina (Not 75% of your current stamina).

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

In order to maximize the effectiveness of your jump attack, take time to feel how far you can jump from the ground/boulders before taking fall damage. Next, get used to the air control while jump attacking. Learn where exactly your weapon will hit, sometimes even an obvious hit can miss. Prepare for the aftermath. If your opponent will die from the jump attack, prepare for another cannibal/mutant. You will be vulnerable after jump attacking, since you'll be stunned as if it were a downward strike, along with 0 stamina left! Make sure to block (If you have a good blocking weapon) or gather stamina for dodging a possible attack.

It is recommended to use this attack as a finisher on burning or knocked down opponents, especially on easy targets such as a burning Cowmen.

If you kill an opponent with a heavy jump attack (From a long fall, the distance right before taking fall damage), it will turn into giblets, leaving no body behind.

One of the best weapons to use for this is the Modern Axe, it deals great damage and has a 90% block, which is extremely useful after jump attacking.
