An explosive is an throwable item that acts both as a strong weapon and useful tool. All explosives types can be stored in explosives holders.

Gameplay[]

Thrown explosives take 4 seconds to explode and slide on the ground, both which make it hard to hit faster targets. .

Cannibals, animals and mutant babies hit by the explosion will be blown to gibs, leaving no items behind.
The big mutants will also be blown to gibs, but they can withstand 3 (virginia) to 4 (armsy, cowman) explosions. (in normal mode)

Explosives can also be used to destroy

Because explosives can easily get rid of unwanted AND wanted structures, they should be used with caution.

Bomb[]

The standard bomb, known as explosives in The Forest. It can be used to craft the accurate sticky bomb or the stronger, but harder to use head bomb.
It can also be used to build an explosive wire trap.

Sticky Bomb[]

The sticky bomb is an upgrade of the standard bomb. It sticks on impact, which makes moving targets easier to hit.
Since the 3D model is the same as the bombs a tree sap symbol indicates the difference instead.

Head Bomb[]

The head bomb is another upgrade of the standard bomb. Its explosion has greater range and power, but its also harder to use.
It can't be thrown far and rolls forward for 5 seconds before it explodes. This makes it hard to hit moving targets.

Dynamite[]

Dynamite has to be lit first and can't be crafted, but otherwise acts just like a standard bomb after being thrown.
The lighter doesn't always turn on immediately and gives of the players position, therefore dynamite is less useful in emergencies or when stealthiness is desired.

Molotov[]

The molotov is different from the other explosives. It can't be used to blow up walls, secret caches, trees, structures and other objects and it doesn't blow creatures to gibs.
It has to be lit first and explodes on impact, setting a small area on fire and burns creatures, bodies, flora and sometimes trees within it.
