Amanita Mushroom are edible fungi found throughout the Peninsula.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

They can be eaten directly to restore a small amount of hunger and energy, or collected with the pouch. Like berries, collected mushrooms do not spoil and can be eaten later, used for crafting, or planted in a garden. The player can only grow mushrooms in caves; however, they do not spawn there naturally and must be brought in from outside. As of v0.66, they cannot be grown in wall planters.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Poisonous mushrooms in the game used to make the player hallucinate when consumed, but this was later removed.
  • The poisonous Amanita (Amanita muscaria) can also act as a disassociative hallucinogen through a different set of compounds.

Update history[edit | edit source]

Version Changes
v0.69 You can now poison most weapons by combining them with poison berries, or poison mushrooms.
v0.69 It is now possible to cook a stew with the cooking pot ! After adding the pot filled with water on a fire, add a choice of 20 ingredients (8 meats, 6 mushrooms, 4 herbs and 1 berry and oysters), it will start a 30s cooking period after which stew will be ready to eat, providing hydration, fullness and other benefits based on recipe. Can remain on the fire up to 10 minutes. Note, you can also add ingredients to pot without water, however this will not provide hydration and will burn food extremely fast.
v0.67 Fixed mushrooms always having sheen in inventory

Fixed missing amount display on mushrooms inventory tooltip

v0.66 You can now make poison arrows using poisoned mushrooms

Mushrooms may now be collected using the pouch ! It is now possible to carry up to 10 mushrooms

Gardens created in caves now have the option to plant mushrooms instead of seeds.

v0.29 Added Food Poisoning: has 20% chance of kicking in when getting damage from food. Can be cured with aloe or by sleeping. Lowers fullness/thirst/health/energy regeneration from consuming edible items
v0.21 Following features now require to hold their respective button for half a second to be triggered: cancel ghost buildings, drink & gather water, procedural buildings auto fill, eat berries and mushrooms found in world, eat plane food, eat cooked/dried food, light fires, save, sleep
